Another Modification For ST Power Solutions

When you think car customisation / modification you could be forgiven for thinking engine tuning, new alloys, a body kit or perhaps a little neon lighting ( old school right) True, this type of work forms the vast bulk of the custimisation work we carry out but we work on other stuff too, some simple, some complex and some which are just down right fun, an old school friend of mine, Danny Walker is an NICEIC approved electrician in Oldham who runs ST Power Solutions, like any other electrician he has a work van, unlike any other old electrician he regually stops by the garage for some modification or another, this time to convert the inside of the van into what basically accounts to a tool shed, it’s a smart move, so smart in fact that we fully intend to advertise this type of service for trade based businesses who need their work van’s to be a little more organised, turns out this is an actual thing, thanks for the education Danny, the term is van racking in case your wondering! Danny is a great electrician, he serves all areas in Manchester and takes a real pride in his work, his van and his tools and your home too!

I’d say a picture is worth a thousand words and since i’m no Enid Blyton i’d suggest you just admire the vans interior and call Horse Power Mods for your very own electrician racking unit but for those who find my writing style bearable Danny wanted his van customised to hold all the tools an electrician carrys on a day to day basis safely, now i’m not suggesting he needs to go over speed bumps a little slower, nor am I saying that he could take the odd corner with a little more grace, far be it for me to suggest i’m a better driver than he, or that he’s in the garage every 3 months changing his tyres but with one of the biggest costs to an electrician being his or hers tools, and since those tools spend the majority of their lives int he back of the van being driven from one job to the next , having thought about it it just makes good sense for everything to have its place and there to be a place for everything, we’ll see him again soon no doubt but between now and then, this electricians tools are much safer than sat on his van floor being flung from one side to the other at every corner!

Easily update the look of your car with a new colour change wrap. Selection of color is a major problem when purchasing a car. This problem can be solved by buying the car you want whether the colour is right or not and simply getting it wrapped. Depending on what look one requires, it is easy. A black gloose finish, shiny Chrome, whatever you can think of it is easy to solve it with vinyl wrap, with car wrapping you can change the colour and appearnce of your car over and over every time you get bored or fancy a change!

Protection against abrasion and scratch. Car scratchs are common, whether through stone chippings, minor bumps or keys around the door handles. Protect your vehicles paintwork with a full colour change wrao and when it comes time for trade in or sale you can remove the wrap ( if you like) and the new buyer will see nothing but prestine paintwork beneath.

More Economical than spraying. There is a need to consider the best way to change the look of your vehichle without breaking the bank. Car wrapping is much more conomical than spraying for various reasons, not least because each panel needs to be removed and then re attached when spraying whilst most panels can remain attached whilst wrapping a car.

Horsepower Mods – Increase Horsepower with our Car Performance Manual

Horsepower is similar to money in many ways in that a car owner can never have too much at his or her disposal. However, if it is not used wisely, it can lead to a lot of trouble. For do-it yourself vehicle modifiers wishing to get the most horsepower from their money, extra muscle will always be a welcome addition to any car engine. Below are ways of boosting horsepower that fits all output levels and budgets. All the car owner has to do is make sure all engine modifications made are street legal and that the car has adequate insurance, including car trade insurance.

Cold Air Intake

Systems of aftermarket air intake are among the least expensive and most commonly used ways of increasing horsepower. They consist of simple bolt on kits made up of a conical air filter that is fixed to a metal inlet pipe. Once installed, this inlet pipe begins from the engine’s top and goes all the way to the outside of the engine bay. The conical air filter is connected to the pipe’s lower end and can now take in the air below the engine that is cooler compared to that being inlet by the stock air box. The system set up is known as cold air intake since cool air has more oxygen molecules than warm air, thus has more powerful combustion if mixed with fuel. The gain in horsepower varies, depending on the engine it is connected to and the intake brand. Typical gains range between 5 and 20 horsepower.

Supercooler Aftercharger

Superchargers and super coolers are forced induction systems capable of boosting engine potency significantly. The two systems work under a similar principle where air is compressed and fed into the engine. In a turbocharger, a turbine is spun by the hot air from the exhaust manifold that in turn runs the air compressor. On the other hand, in a supercharger the compressor is driven by a belt connecting to the engine directly. Air is made more oxygen-dense by compressing it, making it possible for the engine to increase fuel in pistons, thus increasing output.

Aftermarket Exhaust

Systems of stock exhaust restrict engine exhaust flow, robbing the car of both fuel economy and output. Performance exhaust pipes give a flow rate that is optimum, which is not the case with factory pipes, since they have a much larger diameter and no bends and kinks. Therefore, this problem is addressed by aftermarket exhausts through allowing exhaust fumes to flow in a freer manner. This reduces the back pressure generated, providing the power carved by car owners.

Nitrous Oxide System

Basically, a nitrous oxide kit is made up of a source of compressed liquid nitrous oxide connected to an intake manifold. All the driver has to whenever he needs a nitrous boost is to flip a switch or press a button to direct the liquid into the engine. When injection of nitrous oxide to the intake manifold is done, it breaks down at high temperatures to yield more oxygen than that contained in the atmospheric air. The oxygen in denser concentrations enables the engine it burn more air and fuel, increasing the output.
